We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic native speakers to work with us on our project. Our project is a perfect solution for those who have some spare time in September when private language schools are in a bit lower season. It can be treated as a nice change from the whole year work that can balance your budget.
The main idea of the Project is :
Teenagers aged 14-18 from 3 different EU countries will meet in a hotel sitauated in STARA LUBOVNA (Slovakia ) and they will stay there for 5 full days. During those 5 days they will take part in different activities like: language workshops, sport activities both outdoor and indoor, art activities and others.
Through this project they will have a chance to meet their peers from other countries, get to know them better, get to know the problems they are facing, the music they listen to, the idols they have, etc. It will enable them to get to know the cultures of other nations.
The official language of the project is English which means that it will be in the „air” all the time what will help the participants to break the barrier of shyness in speaking English, which is a serious problem for most of those who learn English.
The project will also make participants more open-minded and tolerant to other cultures, nations and races.
We will organise six rounds in 2012:
May/June session:
Round 1 = 20.05.2012 – 26.05.2012
Round 2 = 27.05.2012 – 02.06.2012
Round 3 = 03.06.2012 – 09.06.2012
September session:
Round 1 = 09.09.2012 – 15.09.2012
Round 2 = 16.09.2012 – 22.09.2012
Round 3 = 23.09.2012 – 29.09.2012
We are looking for native speakers from UK, USA, Canada, Australia or other countries where English is an official language to work with us on this innovative project.
Here are the conditions for native speakers:
1. We are looking for 3 reliable, enthusiastic and active people who really like working with teenagers and get on well with them. People who enjoy teaching not necessarily in the old fashioned way which is common at public schools.
2. You will have 4 language workshops in the morning (starting from 9 a.m. to 13 through 5 days ). 1 workshop lasts 50 minutes. It adds to 20 workshops through 5 days. We will give you the guidelines regarding how to organise the work-shops.
3.You will also lead/supervise different activities in the afternoon from 14:00 to 17:30 which in-cludes both outdoor and indoor ones like sport ac-tivities (football, american football, baseball,dodgeball, volleyball etc), setting domino, cycling in the sur-rounding area, drama activities etc. There will also be other people (non-native teachers of English accompanying groups) helping you, but you will be the leaders of each activity.
4.You will also host the evening activities from 19:00 to 21:00 where teenagers will present dif-ferent things prepared in advance.
5.There will be a coordinator of the project in Stara Lubovna through all the time during the pro-ject who will coordinate your work.
6.We will provide board and lodging for you, which you don’t have to pay for during your work at the project.
7.You will be most needed during those 5 days (Monday to Friday). You will be off on Saturday and Sunday. We would prefer one of the natives stay in the hotel for the weekend. If you decide to stay in the hotel for the weekend, we will provide you board and lodging for free too. We will favour those natives who will be willling to participate in more than one round. It takes some time to get to know what to do during the project, how to lead the activities, how to organise language work-shops etc and we want to avoid training new ones for each round. We want to establish long term cooperation.
8.For taking part in the Project we will pay you 330 EURO/round plus 50 Euro to cover transportation costs.
