Classes 1-3 represent for many pupils their first steps in a foreign language, along a path marked out for us by the reformed Podstawa Programowa but which must be lit by our own awareness of each child's emotional, physical and overall developmental needs at this age.  This session will look at what the reform of Podstawa Programowa means in practical terms: content, approach and application in the classroom, referring in particular to English Adventure and Footprints.  The session will contain a strong practical element including classroom activities and ideas for use with your classes.

Classes 4-6 are a key stage in the development process: new subjects, new teachers, new possibilities and new responsibilities make this period as challenging as it is fruitful for teachers and pupils alike.  As we prepare our pupils for the shift to gimnazjum it is crucial that we ensure rounded development while still maintaining the level of fun and motivation which is crucial for these still very young explorers of the English language.  This very practical session will look at how to maintain the energy, enthusiasm and fun which typifies learning in classes 1-3 while gradually introducing the skills and knowledge which our pupils will need in later years.
