The workshop will be devoted to the life and the writing of Oscar Wilde. It will be a chance to find out more about the times he lived in, and the times he was imprisoned and exiled in, his studies at Trinity College Dublin as well as Oxford University, his marriage, his London life and his Paris death. Also a chance to learn more about his writing style, the Portrait of Dorian Gray, The Importance if Being Ernest, and The Ballad of Reading Gaol. Finally, we will look at some of the quotes like: "The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast."

Richard Mullaney was was born in Dublin. When he was 13 he became a Patrol Leader in scouts and took part in a number of personal development and leadership courses and workshops. In 2004, his patrol came first in the National Scouting Competition, the ‘Smyte Cup’. Whilst in scouts he also volunteered as a ‘Scouter,’ a helper in the 8-11 year old section of his group. In 2006, he dropped out of school and got a full-time job in an outdoor equipment shop, where he worked till June 2010. During this time he began volunteering in a youth support group in the Dublin city centre; he continued as a ‘Scouter’ in Scouts and also volunteered as a barista in a drop-in centre in Dublin City. He soon decided that youth work was his calling and applied for and got accepted at Liberties College in Dublin. He strongly believed that the ''learning by doing'' is the best form of education and he has been bringing it from scouts into other youth groups and sectors, and got excellent results in the support group. In 2008, he decided to get a summer job abroad with Stafford House Study Holidays as an Activities Leader in Glasgow. His duties consisted of 'simply' bringing approx. 150 Spanish and Italian students to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Loch Lomond. In the evening he had to entertain them with Karaoke nights, Discos, Scottish Culture nights, Movie and Talent Show night etc. Now he has completed his college course in Youth Work and has moved to Poland to expand his experience. He loves working with Polish students. And baking cookies in his free time.
