Dear,
My name is Katarina Osadchuk and I am a native English speaker from Brisbane Australia and I am interested in applying for the position at your company I have noticed that you are looking for someone to fill this position and I believe that we could potentially work together.
I have attended Somerville House school in Brisbane, Australia, and went to Universities in Australia and Canada my majors were psychology and education. Therefore I hope that my proficiency in English is at the level that you are looking for.
In addition to this I have also had experience in English teaching in Poland last year. I was privileged to have the opportunity to work for Teddy English school in Gliwice, which I absolutely loved. This experience has woken me up to teaching and it has made me realise that this is something I want to continue pursuing. My experiences included teaching children of various ages the English Language. My core groups were grades 2, 4, 5, 6 and I filled in for many other year levels. Teddy English school taught alongside the Footprints textbooks. But I have also implemented fun physical learning activities into my classroom because I believe that children learn best through various forms of education (visual, kinetic, listening, play, and textbook, movement). I believe that my volleyball playing background has helped me develop and implement this method tremendously. I firmly believe as teachers that we need to cater to each child’s strengths and sometimes we even need to help them learn what their strengths are. I try to cater to each child’s learning ability, because no child learns the same. It is important that each child feel safe, welcome, included, and needed in his or her learning environment. I aim to make the classroom a place where they can be free to be themselves in addition to learning the given material. One of challenges that I encountered was to create a lesson that was fun, interesting and informative as well as catering to each child’s unique learning ability. In my experiences as a teacher at Teddy school this was overcome by inventive and creative lessons. For example to teach past simple I played a game of story cubes with my year 6, which really pushed them to create sentences and connect the pictures to their story whilst staying in the Past Simple tense. This was done in addition to the work from the text book. My volleyball background has also helped me deal with the different personalities of my team mates, and using them as a strength of the team towards a common goal.
Furthermore, my strength lies in languages. I am also fluent in Polish, Russian and English. I have also lived in many different countries (Poland, Australia, Ukraine, Croatia, Sweden, Germany) Languages, teaching , and sport are the main passions in my career. Therefore, I understand what it means to learn and master languages. This can be used as a strength because I can often relate to children and their struggle to learn new languages. This makes it easier for me to understand them, communicate and inspire them to keep learning.
I hope to have the opportunity to work for you. I hope that my mix of language skills, culture, and sport can benefit your company. I absolutely love working with children and I believe that we learn as much from them as they do from us. In addition to English Teaching I have been a coach, a learn to swim instructor, I helped in classrooms with special needs children and volunteered. You can find this information in the attached CV.
