“Result: another new book, or something different?”

Result is more than just another new series, it’s a new publishing concept from Oxford – a Super-series of general English, business English and exam preparation. Result is 3 individual series that share common pedagogical values: methodology, motivation and support. During this presentation, we will consider the importance of these values in the demanding learning environments of today. Also, we’ll look at examples of how the Super-series focuses on delivering real results for your students, from expert input from the Cranfield School of Management in Business Result, to the brand new oxfordenglishtesting.com website that delivers online practice tests to Exams Result learners.

“Entertainment, personalization and challenge in the Adult classroom”

Students learn better if they enjoy what they do in the classroom. English Result aims to make learning enjoyable by stimulating curiosity and providing entertainment, personalization and challenge. In this workshop, we will see how this is achieved and participants will have the opportunity to try out some of the activities.
Each participant will receive a copy of English Result Pre-Intermediate Student’s Book.

Only knowledge that is used sticks in your mind” Dale Carnegie. Learners of Business English tend to squeeze English lessons into their busy sched- ules and have very little time for self-study. The key to success is providing them with the language they really need to use and the tools to enable them to use the language immediately and confidently. In this session, we’ll be examining a number of tools now available to enable them to put their new-found knowledge into practice.
Each participant will receive a copy of Business Result Upper-Intermediate Student’s Book.

Learning to learn for exam success”
Students and teachers share the drive for exam success. But what is the most effective way to achieve the best possible results? In this session, we will consider a broad range of exam strategies and techniques. We will look at ways of encouraging students to become independent and conscious learners, with a particular focus on exams-oriented dictionary-work.
Each participant will receive a copy of FCE Result Student’s Book.

Each conference participant will receive a certificate of attendance in the Teacher Training Day.
The Result Series and other Oxford University Press books will be available during the whole conference at a 20% discount. The book fair will be organised by Polanglo bookshop.
