The Gimnazjum Examination is probably the first real examination that our students have taken in English. The step from our communicative classrooms to the test tables can seem daunting and it is, unfortunately, all too common for students to underperform in tests, to struggle to apply what they know in the best way.

This session will look at exam preparation from the teacher's and - more importantly - from the student's point of view investigating what works and what does not and demonstrating practical classroom ideas for exam preparation, including ideas for teaching exam skills and for revision.

This session will show that the principles of personalisation and individualisation can still be relevant to exam teaching; indeed, that the best exam preparation is indeed personalised and focused closely on the needs of the individual.
