This session will look at how we can continue this work, both now and in the future by helping our students build written competency, functional fluency and breadth of vocabulary as they work and revise for their exams. The session will be illustrated with ideas and activities drawn from the new edition of Pearson’s Repetytorium Gimnazjalne.

It is commonly believed that exam preparation has got to be serious and useful and not necessarily fun and engaging but this is a false dichotomy. Without engagement nothing useful will be possible and unless the material is suitable, practical, and fun to work with, motivation will be short-lived. In the talk we will have a look at materials, exercises and activities from New Matura Success and Matura Repetytorium and we will focus on some practical tricks and techniques that we can use to make sure that we strike a balance between what is not only serious and useful for the exam but also motivating and fun.

Since this year Matura changes again and students will be taking a new format oral exam, we will take a closer look at the speaking test and exploit teaching ideas that not only help students prepare for the oral exam but also motivate them to study, revise, and recycle.
