For some time now, young teenage students and their teachers have been busily working towards the new challenges of the 2012 Gimnazjum exam. This session will look at how we can continue this work, both now and in the future by helping our students build written competency, functional fluency and breadth of vocabulary as they work and revise for their exams.

12:15 – 13:15 Getting the Balance right for Matura - Daniel Brayshaw
When students and teachers of Matura are faced with the same exam topics year in and year out, remaining motivated can present a challenge. In order to stimulate interest and language production (written and especially spoken), what is needed are some new twists on familiar themes. With this in mind, this year’s upper-secondary session will look at some familiar Matura topics from new angles and in addition, will explore how teachers can provide Matura students with an effective balance between language development and exam practice. The session will be illustrated with ideas, examples and activities taken from Pearson’s New Matura Success Intermediate and Repetytorium Maturalne.
