All the books presented here are the result of a unique collaboration of an international team of authors working for the Leonardo Da Vinci European Programme under 1-2-1. They have been designed for those with a particular interest in Finance, Law and Medical issues. As regards the methodology, the programme favours a humanistic approach to teaching by promoting a learner's autonomy and by taking different learning styles into account. It contains a description of teaching/learning techniques which have already proved successful in "one to one" tuition and it takes advantage of the idea of enhanced learning in information technology which has played an important role in designing the above mentioned teaching materials. The training packs consist of activities which develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills; each referring to the contexts specified in the needs analysis according to the needs of individual learners. It is intended for learners with B2-level language skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for language learners (CEFR), although some of the lexical items included may be considered slightly higher than B2 level. All three modules have been designed with an average adult learner in mind; therefore, the expected duration of this course is approximately 30 hours. Nevertheless, it is the individual learner and their initial language skills that will determine the exact number of hours in which this module will be covered. Although the modules have been created with one to one teaching in mind, they can easily be adapted to suit small groups. Each module is accompanied by a CD, which contains the audio for the Listening Tasks, the Teacher?s Guide with the transcripts of all the listening activities and the Interactive Review Exercise for each unit, which provide the learners with a complete interactive learning environment.
