11:30-12:30 Robin Walker English in the Antipodes
English in the antipodes. Why was Cook annoyed when he discovered New Zealand? Why were the Maoris upset when Cook arrived there for the first time? Why were Cook's sailors unhappy when Cook discovered Australia and landed at Botany Bay? Why do Australians love bank robbers? You don’t know? Then ‘come down under, mate' and see what life is like living upside down.

Robin Walker is a freelance teacher, trainer and ELT author. A former Vice-President of TESOL-SPAIN, he regularly gives talks, courses and workshops on language teaching. He is co-author of Tourism, a 3-level course in the Oxford English for Careers series, and has just published Teaching the Pronunciation of English as a Lingua Franca, an OUP teacher’s handbook.

10:00-11:00 Rejestracja
11:00-11:15 Otwarcie
11:15-12:15 Marek Jędryka Use the virtual net to catch the golden e-fish:

The Internet is often compared to an ocean and as such it is obviously full of fish. A language teacher can be compared to a fisherman who goes out to sea to catch the fish, i.e. to hunt for materials, applications and services. On the trip they are likely to meet their students who are eager to use not only facebook but also the online workbook and virtual gradebook! If the teacher is lucky enough to catch the golden fish, some of their dreams can also come true. The golden e-fish may not be able to make us all rich but it can certainly help teachers in some of the most mundane chores such as correcting homework. No matter what age your students are, and at what type of school you teach, join the workshop if you want to find out what else the golden e-fish can do for you on the net. Just make your wish ...

How many Es are there in change? One? No, three!
 Efficacy: getting things done
 Effectiveness: doing the “right" things,
Efficiency: doing things in the most economical way

So Gimnazjum exam is changing. Does this mean headaches all-round? No, not necessarily. This session will present a range of ready-to-roll ideas for practical and purposeful exam preparation. By implementing the three Es in change, we can embrace what’s new for 2012 and in doing so, continue to guide our learners to success with minimum fuss and maximum results.
