Warszawski Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy

Friday 12 October 2018 to Sunday 21 October 2018

The 34th Warsaw International Film Festival will be held on October 12-21, 2018, at the Kinoteka in the Palace of Culture and Science and the Multikino Złote Tarasy. Over 110 features and 80 short films selected out of almost 5000 submissions will be screened during those 10 days.

Warsaw International Film Festival has been a part of the elite group of events recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations along with the international film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno or San Sebastián. During this year’s edition of the Warsaw International Film Festival we will be presenting the latest films from, among many others: Claire Denis, Naomi Kawase, Valeria Golino, Gastón Duprat, Guillaume Nicloux, Jerry Rothwell, Marek Koterski and Krzysztof Zanussi.

Films will be presented in the five competitive sections: International Competition, 1-2 Competition, Free Spirit Competition, Documentary Competition and Short Films Competition, as well as the five non-competitive sections: Special Screenings, Family Cinema Weekend, Discoveries, Polish Classics and The Best Shorts from Poland. Apart from the awards granted by the Juries of the competitive sections, there are also a FIPRESCI Prize, Ecumenical Jury Award, NETPAC Award and the one and only Audience Award.

British films presented at the Festival include:
- Bruce Lee and the Outlaw (Dir. Joost Vanderbrug), European premiere
- The School in the Cloud, (Dir. Jerry Rothwell), Polish premiere
- Scarborough, (Dir. Barnaby Southcombe), Polish premiere

Full programme of the 34th Warsaw International Film Festival will be announced during the press conference held on September 26, 3018. Tickets presale commences on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
