The power of words - using dictionaries and readers in the classroom.
The first part of the talk explores changes in the language reflected in the new edition of Wordpower dictionary. Why do certain words come to power, and why do others fall from grace? We will look at some of the newest English words and analyze their etymology and ‘life expectancy’. The second part of the talk concentrates on how Oxford 3000 TM – the most important words for any learner of English are used in Oxford Readers series. Finally, we will go over dictionary and reader- based activities that could provide a nice change to English lessons.

The future of course books - an introduction to New English File interactive pack.
Though the times when high-tech can actually replace a teacher are still ahead of us, many teachers are interested in making their life easier and lessons more attractive with the use of interactive whiteboards. This presentation explores many ways in which New English File Interactive Pack can be used in the classroom.
