English in Mind presentation

Title :
Topics, Testing, Teaching…with Teenagers in Mind

Abstract :

Let’s talk about teaching teenagers— and preparing students for the new gimnazjum exam.

We will first look at findings from developmental and cognitive psychology that stress the important influence of the content of our teaching on the level of adolescent students' involvement. Then we will look at a model of how the teacher can successfully combine sharply focused language work with content and teaching processes that naturally appeal to teenage learners.

Using examples of texts and activities taken from the English in Mind series, our aim will be to explore how this course for teenagers not only covers the topics of the gimnazjum curriculum and includes test preparation exercises for the new gimnazjum exam, but also motivates teenagers to like – and learn – English.

face2face presentation

Title :

Writing: back 2 the future
Abstract :

Has modern technology changed the way we and our students communicate in the 21st century?

Come and explore with us the importance/comeback of writing and why students still find it one of the hardest skills to master in a foreign language. We'll be looking at a wide range of practical ideas that you can use inside and outside the class to help your students become more confident and competent writers. Activities will come from the face2face series informed by the Common European Framework and include ways of helping students to become more autonomous writers and exercises that will make writing more fun as well as help them prepare and pass the Matura exam.

Let’s give our students the writing skills they really need to survive in both the real world and the school world!
