We kindly invite researchers, university/school teachers and doctoral students to participate in an international conference held at Vilnius Pedagogical University and hosted by the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Conference Topics include, but are not limited to: Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Discourse Analysis, and Pragmatics. Second Language Acquisition, English for Special Purposes. Innovative Teaching and Learning Technologies in Foreign Language Teaching. Sociocultural Aspects in Foreign Language Teaching.

Important deadlines:

Submission of registration forms and abstracts of presentations is due by May 1, 2008. Participants' notification of acceptance to the conference will be sent via e-mail by June 1, 2008. The conference program will be announced by June 15, 2008. Conference presentations are due by July 1, 2008.

Conference Fee:

Conference participant fee is 50 Lt. (EUR 15)

The conference fee is paid at registration on the first day of the conference.

Selection of conference presentations will be made according to the abstracts.

Requirements for Abstracts:

Abstracts should be written in the language of the presentation. The length of the abstract should be 800-1000 characters.

Presentations meeting the requirements of scientific publications will be published in 'Language in Different Contexts' (Research papers, Volume 3).

Requirements for Publications:

The papers for publishing should be structured as follows: introduction, aim of the research, object of the research, methods, results of the research, conclusions, list of references and a summary in English and in Lithuanian (for the Lithuanian authors) no shorter than 350 characters. Papers must be submitted both in printed form and on a floppy disk (IBM format, 3.5"). The font required is Times New Roman, the font size is 12 pt., for the title and the author's name - 18 pt. The subtitles should be printed in bold and separated by a double spacing. The contributions should be typed single-spaced, with 30 mm on all margins on plain standard A4 paper. A submission should contain 4-7 pages, numbered consecutively.
The following information should be given on the first page: the full title of the contribution followed by the full name of the author, the name of the institution and its full address. References. References in the text should include the author's name, the year of publication and, in case of quotation, page numbers, e.g. (Schiffrin, 1987, 17). The bibliographical references should be included at the end of the paper and numbered alphabetically, references in Lithuanian (if any) preceding other references. References to books should include the author's last name and initials, the title, the place of publication, the publisher's name, the year of publication. References to articles in journals should also include volume and page numbers. Figures. All tables, figures and graphs must be reproducible originals. They should be freely movable and referred to by number, e.g. "Fig. 2".
The manuscript should be carefully edited.
