Joanna Ciepłucha uczyła w liceum, prywatnej szkole językowej i studium nauczycielskim, a po dołączeniu do zespołu Oxford University Press prowadziła seminaria dla nauczycieli. Ostatnio, po roku spędzonym w Oksfordzie, gdzie zajmowała się przygotowywaniem platformy Oxford English Testing, specjalizuje się w nowych technologiach w nauczaniu języka angielskiego

Educational Testing Service to lider w branży certyfikatów językowych i partner tysięcy firm, szkół językowych oraz milionów kandydatów. Z doświadczenia wiemy jak ważne jest motywowanie i utrzymanie uczniów na zajęciach. Szczególnie, gdy osiągając poziom B1 i dalej, coraz mniej dostrzegają tempo swoich postępów. Dlatego tak powszechny stał się termin 'średnio-zaawansowany', który, choć mówi niewiele, pozwala bardzo dyplomatycznie wybrnąć z każdej sytuacji gdy potrzebne jest określenie poziomu. Zawsze zostaje furtka: 'przecież mówiłem, że średnio'. Statystycznie na tym średnio-zaawansowanym poziomie najwięcej osób odpada ze szkoleń.

Prezentacja ETS pokaże Państwu jak:
- udowodnić studentom w obiektywny i zewnętrzny sposób, że nadal się rozwijają i robią postępy w języku obcym
- zachęcić studentów do dalszej nauki

Absolwentka Filologii Angielskiej i Zarządzania, posiada doświadczenie w zakresie nauczania języka angielskiego młodzieży i dorosłych.

Surprising Ways to Use Stories in Class

Since the beginning of time, storytelling has played an important role in people’s lives and stories of all sorts have been used as a vehicle for people to relate to one another. In our classrooms, stories are a key tool for developing skills and stories offer children the opportunity to experience English in a natural way. In this session we will talk about why we use stories in class and look at a wide range of pre, during and post reading tasks for young learners. Everyone loves a good story, so come along and find out how to make the most of them!

Nina Lauder has been teaching at all levels since 1990 and for the past ten years has been involved in educational consulting and teacher training. She has given workshops all over Spain and abroad. She is a materials writer for ELT and CLIL books and has published several articles. She is one of the authors of OUP's new series for primary in Spain, Explorers, and currently works as a freelance author, teacher trainer and educational consultant.

Beyond the Classroom – Breaking down the four walls.

Homework and self-study are essential parts of the learning process but getting our students to do it is another matter. However, in our modern digital age the potential for taking learning beyond the four walls of the classroom is enormous. In this talk we will look at why homework and self-study are so important and how we can encourage our students to do it. We will also provide you with an introduction to New English File online skills practice, giving you some practical ideas to help motivate your students to do their homework and better their English beyond the classroom

Gareth Davies is the author of the teacher’s guides for iTools for Project, Solutions and New Headway. He is a teacher and teacher trainer based in the Czech Republic. He has been in the EFL industry since 1995, teaching in the UK, Portugal and the Czech Republic. Between 2002 and 2007 he ran a Trinity CertTESOL course in Prague and since 2005 he has worked closely with Oxford University Press delivering teacher training around the world. He has contributed to several course books including New Horizons, Business Result and Business one:one.

English with a purpose: combining the general and the specific in Business English and ESP

Business English and ESP are no longer on the fringes of adult English Language Teaching: they are often an integral part of ‘general’ English programmes. As a result there is a new emphasis on the learner’s purpose in learning English, and this has brought a new and refreshing dynamic to the way we teach English, helping us to re-examine and revitalize many of the basic engines of ELT, such as: needs analysis and course design; the role of vocabulary, grammar, and function; classroom materials, skills, and activities; motivation and differentiation. This talk gives an overview of how this operates in practical terms for teachers and learners, and how it underpins current OUP materials such as International Express, the Oxford English for Careers series, Business Result, and the Express series.

Keith Harding is a freelance ELT writer, trainer, and consultant based in London. He has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, Director of Studies, and Principal in the UK and the USA. He is the co-author of the new editions of both the Intermediate and Upper Intermediate levels of International Express, and has written a number of English for Tourism titles, (High Season, Going International, and Oxford English for Careers: Tourism 1, 2, and 3). He is particularly interested in ESP and English for Business, and has written the Oxford Resource Book for Teachers: English for Specific Purposes. He has run training workshops and courses for teachers in France, Russia, Algeria, Iran, and a number of other countries. Keith is also a British Council Accreditation inspector, and a registered London Blue Badge tourist guide.
