Opis:

Sipping tea at 5 o’clock in England, sheep herding in the Welsh mountains, men playing bag pipes and wearing kilts at Scottish celebrations; it all sounds so normal. Ok, well maybe not the bagpipes and kilts. However, let’s take hold of that quirky idea and run along with it for an hour or so and see what other quaint, unusual and truly bonkers traditions turn up on the island of Britain. We will cover all the four seasons opening with those kilts and pipes at “Burns Nicht” (Burns night) in January in fair Scotland, move on to spring with Morris dancing and men in green on the English village green, watch the summer competition of bog snorkeling in Wales and finish at Christmas with the truly British Pantomime “He’s behind you!” to mention just a few. Don’t worry if you don’t know what all that means, all will be revealed and of course with a healthy dose of audience dancing, acting, speaking Scots language pulling funny faces and even cutting a Haggis, “A what?”.

Prowadzenie:

Simeon Wren pochodzi z Manchesteru w północnej Anglii, ale mieszka i pracuje w Bielsku -Białej.
W 2001 roku skończył studia aktorskie na Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama w Glasgow. Po studiach, zajmował się pracą w teatrze i telewizji oraz grał w sztukach szekspirowskich w przedstawieniach wystawianych przez teatry w Szkocji. W międzyczasie zdobył kwalifikacje uniwersytetu w Cambridge do nauczania języka angielskiego i od pięciu lat pracuje jako nauczyciel. Obecnie, w Bielsku-Białej, współpracuje z liceum i gimnazjum Katolickiego Towarzystwa Kulturalnego. Nie jest kibicem Manchester United, kibicuje Manchester City, ale serce i duszę oddał krykietowi i górom.
