Peter. Peter Rabbit is the most famous rabbit character in children’s literature created by Beatrix Potter. This interesting, strong and open minded woman is presented in the “A Tale from the Lake District” an article by Ma³gorzata Neckowicz. The text is worth reading as the
author showus not only this fascinating person’s life but teaches us how to make a good use of her books as well as her use of the characters, during teaching English classes. She convinces us that “biographies
are a rich source of the English language, which might be used for practicing vocabulary and grammar, as well as the four skills. Talking about real people has not only linguistic value but is also educational.
Showing human lives with their ups and downs causes reflection about the intricacies of life and gives us food for thought”. Beatrix Potter once said: “There is something delicious about writing the first words of
a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.”

We know where we are going to take you with the October issue of The Teacher magazine; on a wonderful trip into the world of teaching. Especially that October is a really fantastic month, and those
who do not agree, because they miss summer, should look around and notice that there are more colours than during the summer time and nature gives us all its best (see the picture below) like a gorgeous
apple hanging innocently on the tree branch. Is it not the apple which started everything?;) Adamand Eve, Newton; apple pie, Big Apple (N.Y.); Apple Computers BTW, Steve Jobs (1955-2011) regards an apple as
the most perfect fruit) etc. We try hard for you, dear readers, as YOU ARE THE APPLE IN OUR EYE.
